CenVaNet Purchasing Group
CenVaNet is pleased to announce the establishment of a Medical Liability Insurance Purchasing Group to benefit CenVaNet physicians!
Since 1996, CenVaNet has worked closely with our physician partners to identify business opportunities that bring value to providers. Establishing a purchasing group has leveraged our success with previous quality and patient safety initiatives to secure more cost-effective malpractice coverage on a long-term basis. CenVaNet has chosen PhillipsCox, the Physician Division of RCM&D Healthcare, to be the broker for this endeavor. The program is exclusively available to CenVaNet physicians.
Insurance coverage is provided through MAG Mutual Insurance Company, a physician-owned mutual company with local offices in Richmond. MAG Mutual holds an A – (Excellent) A.M. Best rating, with over 17,000 policy holders national
Managed Care Contracting
The business focus of CenVaNet originally was the creation of a vehicle for negotiating and managing risk contracts on behalf of our member physicians. Through such arrangements, CenVaNet shares the fiscal and clinical accountability for managing the health of defined populations. Our goal is to have in place the structures, systems, processes, and performance necessary to assume the full financial risk of delivering health care.
CenVaNet has the largest Medicaid HMO enrollment of any provider organization in central Virginia, through its partnership with Optima Family Care. Through the development of an effective governance structure, an experienced management and staff, a comprehensive provider network, NCQA-level credentials processes, and an array of care management programs and services, CenVaNet has assumed the responsibility for many of the care management services typically performed by a managed care organization. Over the years, our structure has proven beneficial to both physician members and their patients alike, allowing CenVaNet to secure a market leading position in integrated care delivery in central Virginia.
